Aran knitting. I can’t get it out of my head. Unfortunately, I have a Rusted Root to finish and a minor obsession with knitting Red Sox socks. (Oh and a couple of t-shirts to make and some logos to sew on a pair of finished gloves).![]()
To exorcise this idea I’m sharing it with you, starting with the furthest out of reach.
The Burridge Lake Aran Afghan (right). Beautiful, time consuming, and wholly out of reach, I fall asleep thinking about making time to knit this blanket. *sigh*
Starsky (below) is an old Knitty favorite that I just found again today. I love this gray one from the Jordana Paige flickr pool, I just didn’t know it until I found myself absent mindedly browsing for the yarn. This project might be going at the bottom of the long list of things I’m going to once I finish the things I’m already doing.
Right at the top of my list is the Amhra’n Gra’. This sweater is going to break me of all my pretty aran day
dreams. I have a pattern in my glove box and a package of Cascade 220 Natural in my closet. Once I get my other 5 projects out of the way, I SWEAR this one is next. I think that a couple inches of no breaks cabling should make me forget about blankets (or even making another sweater) for a long, long time.
Is there something you guys are obsessed with or working on? Send posts, pictures, and links to woollylambmoths@gmail.com and I will share your joy and/or pain with the rest of the group.
